Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of assigned customer accounts, with clear account plans, targets and growth strategies.
Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders across operations, engineering, procurement and management.
Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, installed base, operational needs and future expansion plans.
Identify and develop upselling, cross-selling, repeat order and recurring revenue opportunities within existing accounts.
Expand UB’s solutions within customer accounts, including automation systems, service and managed automation, Equipment Intelligence, SmartOps and other smart manufacturing solutions.
Drive account growth and increase UB’s share of wallet across assigned customers.
Support closing-stage ASRS/OHS and automation opportunities together with Business Development and Technical Presales teams.
Prepare and manage quotations, commercial proposals, negotiations, contract renewals and customer agreements.
Coordinate with Technical Presales, Project Management, Engineering and Service teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed.
Act as a key commercial and relationship point of contact, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of customer matters.
Monitor project and delivery progress from the customer relationship perspective and proactively manage customer expectations and satisfaction.
Work closely with Finance to follow up on invoicing, payment collection and outstanding receivables for assigned accounts.
Monitor account health, customer satisfaction, competitor activities and business risks, taking proactive action where required.
Maintain accurate account, contact, opportunity and pipeline information in CRM and relevant internal systems.
Provide regular updates on account performance, sales opportunities, forecasts, risks and competitor intelligence.
Ensure commercial documentation, agreements and account activities comply with internal approval and commercial processes.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Account Management, Key Account Management, Business Development, B2B Sales or a related commercial role.
Experience in industrial automation, semiconductor/E&E, manufacturing, machine building, warehouse automation, robotics or engineering solutions is highly advantageous.
Proven ability to manage and grow existing B2B customer accounts and develop long-term customer relationships.
Experience identifying upselling, cross-selling, repeat business and account expansion opportunities.
Comfortable engaging stakeholders across technical, operational, procurement and management levels.
Experience managing long B2B sales cycles, strategic accounts or customers with an existing installed base is advantageous.
Good understanding of account planning, customer relationship management and sales pipeline management.
Experience preparing quotations, commercial proposals, contracts and customer agreements.
Good commercial understanding of pricing, margins, payment terms, credit terms and basic contractual requirements.
Able to understand customer business and technical requirements and collaborate with internal teams to develop suitable solutions.
Experience using CRM systems with disciplined account and opportunity management.
Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
Customer-focused and commercially driven, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and follow-through.
Able to coordinate effectively across Sales, Technical Presales, Project, Engineering, Service and Finance teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
Willing to travel regularly to customer sites for account management and business development activities.
