Join our Technical Presales (Solution Architecture) team and take the lead in designing smart manufacturing and warehouse automation solutions — from understanding customer challenges to shaping the technical concept, architecture, simulation and commercial proposal that wins the project.
Key Responsibilities
Lead customer discovery, site surveys and technical workshops to understand operational challenges and requirements.
Translate customer needs into practical and competitive automation solution concepts and system architectures.
Design solutions involving ASRS, OHS, MMS, WMS/WCS, material handling and smart factory platforms.
Develop preliminary system layouts, process flows and equipment concepts using AutoCAD and relevant engineering tools.
Perform throughput, capacity, equipment sizing and system calculations to validate proposed solutions.
Develop simulation and digital twin models using Visual Components or equivalent platforms where required.
Prepare technical proposals, RFQ/tender responses, BOMs, costing and project estimates.
Define project scope, assumptions, exclusions, technical risks and delivery requirements clearly before commercial commitment.
Work closely with Sales to develop solutions that are both technically competitive and commercially viable.
Deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations and concept reviews to customers and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to validate technical feasibility, costs, resources and execution risks.
Ensure a clear Sales-to-Project handover, aligning what is sold with what can be successfully delivered.
Review estimated versus actual project costs and continuously improve solution design and costing accuracy.
Keep up with emerging automation, robotics and smart manufacturing technologies to strengthen future solutions.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, E&E, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 yearsof relevant experience in Technical Presales, Solution Engineering, Solution Architecture, System Integration or Industrial Automation.
Strong understanding of industrial automation and system integration.
Experience with ASRS, warehouse automation, material handling, machine building, semiconductor automation or smart manufacturing is highly advantageous.
Able to translate customer requirements into system concepts, layouts and technical solutions.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D; exposure to 3D design tools is an advantage.
Experience with Visual Components, FlexSim, Emulate3D, Demo3D or similar simulation/digital twin tools is an advantage.
Working knowledge of WMS, WCS, MES and industrial automation architecture.
Exposure to PLC systems, SECS/GEM and IT/OT integration concepts such as OPC UA, MQTT, APIs and SQL is advantageous.
Experience preparing RFQs, tenders, technical proposals, BOMs and project costing.
Good commercial awareness with an understanding of costing, margins, scope and project risks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Good command of English; Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is an added advantage.
Willing to travel within Malaysia and Southeast Asia for customer engagements when required.
