Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted industries and customer segments.
Generate new leads through market research, networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach and existing business networks.
Build and maintain a healthy B2B sales pipeline, consistently developing new customers and project opportunities.
Qualify opportunities by understanding customer needs, project requirements, budget, timeline, decision process and commercial potential.
Conduct customer meetings, site visits and factory walkthroughs to understand operational challenges and identify automation opportunities.
Work closely with Technical Presales, Engineering and Project teams to develop suitable technical solutions and proposals.
Present UB’s automation, robotics, warehouse automation and smart manufacturing solutions to prospective customers.
Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, presentations and tender documentation in line with approved pricing and commercial requirements.
Proactively follow up on leads and proposals to progress opportunities and close deals.
Support commercial negotiations and coordinate technical and commercial clarifications with customers and internal teams.
Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders across engineering, operations, procurement and management.
Maintain accurate customer, lead, opportunity and pipeline information in the CRM system.
Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, opportunity status, risks and competitor activities.
Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitor developments to identify new business opportunities.
Ensure a smooth internal handover following successful project awards.
Achieve assigned sales, pipeline generation and business development targets.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic, Automation Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in B2B Sales, Business Development, Sales Engineering or a related commercial role.
Strong candidates with proven new business development or sales hunting capabilities may be considered with fewer years of experience.
Experience selling industrial, engineering, automation or technology solutions is an advantage.
Exposure to semiconductor/E&E, industrial automation, manufacturing, machine building, warehouse automation, robotics or smart manufacturing is highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of B2B sales, lead generation, pipeline development and opportunity qualification.
Comfortable with consultative and solution-based selling, with the ability to understand customer challenges and identify suitable business opportunities.
Comfortable engaging customers in factory, manufacturing and industrial environments.
Able to understand basic engineering concepts, technical specifications, drawings or automation systems.
Experience preparing quotations, proposals, presentations and commercial documentation.
Good understanding of pricing, margins, discounts and basic commercial terms.
Experience using CRM systems for lead, opportunity and pipeline management.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Confident and proactive in approaching new customers and developing new markets.
Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership, persistence and follow-through throughout the sales cycle.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
Willing to travel regularly to customer sites for meetings, site visits and business development activities.
