BAYAN LEPAS, PENANG – The execution of Malaysia’s advanced packaging roadmap achieved a critical operational milestone during a high-level facility visit by Penang state leadership and key economic development agencies to the Advanced Packaging Institute & Research Center (APIRC). The inspection highlights a coordinated regional push to accelerate advanced semiconductor packaging capabilities and transition the local ecosystem toward high-value manufacturing.

Driven by SiliconCONNECT, APIRC operates as a strategic collaborative hub designed to accelerate innovation in next-generation advanced packaging architectures. Serving as a key technological anchor within the center's advanced showcase environment is the integration of UB Group’s intelligent material handling systems. This specialized automation infrastructure acts as a live proof-of-concept, demonstrating the functional link required to bridge advanced research with commercial-scale production by showing how physical workflows can meet the cleanroom and throughput standards demanded by modern semiconductor environments.
