Penang – To address the complexities of digital transformation within the manufacturing sector, UB Group, DSC Consulting, Aresys Industries, and the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) have officially aligned to form the Malaysia Smart Manufacturing Alliance (MY-Smart). This strategic alliance is structured to offer a holistic, unified approach to Industry 4.0 adoption.

The MY-Smart Alliance unites specialized domain expertise to deliver an end-to-end operational framework for local and regional manufacturers:

  • DSC Consulting: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation and management.

  • UB Group: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and advanced intralogistics solutions.

  • Aresys Industries: Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration for manufacturing.

  • SHRDC: Industrial talent development and advanced Industry 4.0 training verification.

Enhancing Material Flow and Operational Visibility

By merging these core competencies, the alliance replaces fragmented tech adoption with an integrated ecosystem. Manufacturers utilizing the alliance's framework will benefit from enhanced material flow, total operational visibility, and highly scalable intralogistics. UB Group's WMS software acts as a critical intermediary layer, ensuring that physical warehouse automation communicates flawlessly with high-level enterprise planning software.

At the formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange, UB Group was represented by Medy Lim, Head of Standard Products, alongside KJ Wong, Director of Implementation Services at DSC Consulting, KK Pang, Managing Director of Aresys Industries, and Teh Sook Ling, Executive Director of SHRDC.

Looking forward, the MY-Smart alliance is developing a technical roadmap focused on e-commerce and retail supply chain agility. This includes planned system integrations with major platforms such as Shopify, allowing enterprises to seamlessly connect digital front-end storefronts directly to automated back-end fulfillment and intralogistics systems, opening up significant commercial opportunities in the market.
