UB Group Selected as Strategic Partner for the Launch of the Pioneering Penang ATE Campus

PENANG – UB Group has been officially announced as a participating Automation, Test and Equipment (ATE) company at the formal launch of the Penang ATE Campus. The landmark ceremony was graced by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow, alongside the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, signaling a coordinated effort to accelerate industrial transformation.

Spearheaded by InvestPenang, the initiative is designed to position the ATE sector as a primary engine for industrial growth. To anchor this vision, the Penang State Government, through the Penang Development Corporation, has committed 10 acres of industrial land valued at RM40 million. This dedicated ecosystem aims to accelerate the co-development, qualification, and scaling of advanced automation solutions by enabling crucial first-customer deployment opportunities.

A Trusted Ecosystem for Global Scale

The physical and collaborative framework of the campus provides a highly secure, standards-driven ecosystem. For companies like UB Group, this infrastructure facilitates deep collaboration with global multinational corporations (MNCs) to co-engineer solutions that reduce deployment risks and streamline technology transfer.

The strategic positioning and regional engineering depth anchoring this initiative are further outlined in the official InvestPenang Penang ATE Capability Map, which details the technical competencies driving the state's industrial ecosystem.

The strategy will be rolled out in two distinct phases:

• Phase One: Building collaborative industry platforms, field labs, and specialized training programs aligned with real-world production requirements.

• Phase Two: Developing a dedicated physical campus inspired by international shared-ecosystem models, allowing qualified suppliers to operate under unified manufacturing and qualification standards.
